Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ mass production to begin from January: Report

The report also claims that Plus model will feature dual rear cameras, which makes it the first device under Galaxy S series to feature such camera setup.

It is a well-known fact that Samsung is working on latest Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones. The phones have been subjected to various leaks in the past and the latest one reveals that Samsung is planning to be the process of ordering components for the Galaxy S9 duo.

According to a report by ETNews, Samsung will mass produce the latest flagship devices from January and it is expected to follow the release date of February or March. Samsung will reportedly adopt the new Substance Like PCB or SLP circuit boards to make room for bigger batteries and other components.

The report further highlights that the brand has begun the mass production of camera modules as well. According to the source close to the development, Partron is responsible for the front camera of the Galaxy S9, while Power Logics will be developing the front camera on the Galaxy S9+. Interestingly, the report further mentions that smaller Galaxy S9 will come with an integrated iris scanner in the front camera, while for the Galaxy S9+, there would be a separate iris scanner and front-facing camera.

Further, the report also claims that Plus model will feature dual rear cameras, which makes it the first device under Galaxy S series to feature such camera setup. Recollecting some key specifications, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are reported to arrive with Snapdragon 845 or Samsung’s recently unveiled Exynos 9810 chipset both of which are built on 10nm process. Also, both the S9 and S9+ will come with 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The Galaxy S9+ will reportedly come loaded with 6GB of as compared to 4GB RAM in Galaxy S9. It bigger sibling will also feature a dual-camera setup at the back, similar to the Galaxy Note 8. Both the smartphones will pack a 64GB of internal storage, which could be further expanded via micro SD card slot and both of them will feature a 3.5mm jack.
