Reliance Retail will launch four 4G-enabled smartphones in India this month, according to a report of Economic Times.
The company, as per the report, is planning to bring phones in four series – Earth, Water, Wind and Fire. It also added that the company is mulling to partner with e-commerce firms such as Amazon, eBay, Flipkart and Snapdeal to push its phones.
Reliance Retail will launch super-premium variant ‘Earth 1’ and premium variants ‘Water 1’, ‘Water 2’ and ‘Water 3’ in the first phase while ‘Wind’ and ‘Fire’ series of smartphones will be launched in the second phase, ET quoted a Reliance Retail official as saying.
All these devices will be priced between Rs 4,000 to Rs 25,000, the report claimed.
Note that all these smartphones will be sold under the company’s LYF brand. Earlier in October itself, Reliance had announced to sell its 4G smartphones under its LYF brand.
Reliance Jio is expected to roll out its 4G services this month itself. RJIL is the first telecom operator to hold pan India Unified License. It holds spectrum totalling to 751.1MHz across the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2300MHz bands. RJIL plans to provide seamless 4G services using LTE in 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2300MHz bands. RJIL has recently asked DoT (Department of Telecommunication) for permission to share spectrum in the 800MHz band with RCOM across seven circles.
