At the launch of Redmi 8 in India today, Xiaomi also confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone in India on October 16. It will also launch the Redmi Note 8 in the country. Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones were first launched in China.
The pricing of Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro in India is likely to be the same as in China. The China pricing of the Redmi Note 8 Pro is 1399 Yuan (translates to Rs 14,000) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 1599 Yuan (translates to Rs 16,000) for the 6GB + 128GB variant and 8GB RAM + 128GB is priced at 1799 Yuan (translates to Rs 18,000).
The Redmi Note 8 also comes in three variants – the 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage is priced at 999 yuan (approximately Rs 10,021), the 6GB RAM with 64GB of storage is priced at 1199 yuan (approximately Rs 12,030) and the 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage cost 1399 yuan (approximately Rs 14,036).
Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53-inch FHD+ (2340×1080 pixels) display with 3D curved glass design, waterdrop-style notch, TUV Rheinland eye certification. On the camera front, the smartphone has an AI quad rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel as the primary sensor (ISOCELL Bright GW1 64MP sensor) that will offer up to 25x zoom with supports 9248×6936 ultra high resolution, 8-megapixel as the secondary sensor, 2-megapixel third sensor and another 2-megapixel as the fourth sensor. For the front, the phone has a 20-megapixel selfie camera that supports AI beauty.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor. The smartphone runs on Android 9 based on MIUI 10 and will get its power from 4500mAh battery with 18W charging support along with a USB Type C port.
Redmi Note 8, on the other hand, features a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED Display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by Snapdragon 665 11nm processor coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. The phone comes with an option to expand the storage up to 256GBvia MicroSD card. It has an AI quad rear camera setup with 48-megapixel as the primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, Sony IMX586 sensor, 6P lens, PDAF, EIS, an 8-megapixels 120 degree super wide-angle lens with 1.12 μm, 2-megapixel macro lens with 1.75μm pixel size, f/2.4 Aperture and a 2-megapixels depth of field lens along with Dual LED Flash.
On the front, it has a 13-megapixel selfie shooter that supports AI beauty. The phone runs on Android 9 based on MIUI 10 and comes packed with 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charge support.
