Xiaomi has today announced that it has permanently slashed the prices of three of its popular smartphones in the Indian market by Rs 1,000. The phones in question are Xiaomi Redmi Y2, Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Android One Mi A2.
Xiaomi has announced this price cut on the occasion of its achievement in retaining the top spot in the Indian smartphone market for five quarters in a row, as per IDC Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, 14 November, 2018.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched in two variants – 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB at Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999. Now after a price of Rs 1,000, the smartphone will be priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,999 for the 4GB and 6GB respectively.
The device has 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, 4000mah battery and it runs on MIUI 9.5 based Android 8.1 Oreo. On the camera front, there are two cameras of 12MP and 5MP. The phone has a 20MP front camera.
Xiaomi Redmi Y2
The smartphone 4GB+64GB variant is now available for Rs 11,999 after a price cut of Rs 1,000. Notably, the handset’s 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option is still priced at Rs 9,999.
TheXiaomi Redmi Y2 has a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powered with a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU, the smartphone comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and it has 3,080 mAh battery. On the camera front, the Redmi Y2 has a 12-megapixel primary camera with PDAF, LED Flash and 5-megapixel secondary camera for AI portrait shots. For the front, the device has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
Xiaomi Mi A2
Both the 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants of the Mi A2 are slashed by Rs 1,000 now and will be available for Rs 15,999 and Rs 18,999, respectively.
The smartphone comes with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset along with Adreno 512 GPU coupled with 4GB and 6GB of RAM. It has 12-megapixel primary sensor with Sony IMX486 sensor, f/1.75 aperture and 1.25-micron pixel size and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor with Sony IMX376 sensor, f/1.75 aperture and 1.0-micron pixel size. The smartphone has a 20-megapixel front camera with 1.0-micron pixel size, f/2.2 aperture. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and it features pure Android experience and is backed by a 3010mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging support.
