OnePlus is all set to launch it new flagship smartphone OnePlus 3T in India on December 2. Vikas Agarwal, General Manager of OnePlus India had recently hinted about OnePlus 3T on his twitter handle hinting at the Indian launch. Later he put up a ‘Truth or Dare’ contest on the company’s Facebook page and said that he would announce the results for launch date after the contest. Finally, the launch data of Dec 2 has been announced.
The OnePlus official twitter handle also tweeted about the launch date of OnePlus 3T. The tweet reads “The results are in and our fans have spoken. Watch @Vikas_AGL bungee jump to reveal the launch date. #OnePlus3T”.
OnePlus had recently launched OnePlus 3T at $439 (Rs 29,800) for 64 GB variant and $479( Rs 32,500) for 128 GB variant. The OnePlus 3T is now available in the US starting November 22 i.e today and will be available in Europe on the 28th of this month. So it would be safe to predict a price between Rs 31-33,000 here in India.
Talking about the specifications and changes in the new OnePlus 3T, not a lot has changed from OnePlus 3 with the same 5.5 inch 1080 x 1920 Optic-AMOLED display, 6GB RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. What has changed is the new Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35 GHz coupled with the same Adreno 530 GPU. The front camera has seen a huge upgrade with double the resolution this time of 16 megapixel Samsung sensor. The battery has also seen an improvement with a jump from 3000 mAh in OnePlus 3 to 3400 mAh in OnePlus 3T. Also, the Graphite colour is gone and is replaced by a new Gunmetal variant apart from the Soft Gold variant. Lastly, the camera lens at the back has got sapphire glass protection now.
Coming barely six months after OnePlus 3, the OnePlus 3T surprised a lot of observers, but by staying true to its premise of affordable flagships, the OnePlus 3T will probably get a solid reception this time too.
