Nokia 3 starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update

The update has been announced by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Officer at HMD Global on his official twitter handle.

After receiving Oreo beta update in February, HMD Global has now started rolling out a stable 8.0 Oreo update for its Nokia 3 smartphone. The Oreo update for Nokia 3 has been announced by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Officer at HMD Global on his official twitter handle.

In order to check for the latest update, the user needs to go Settings > System > About Phone > System Update. The Android 8.0 version was unveiled last year. Among its prominent features include dual tasks mode, notification dots for easier preview, autofill framework to remember passwords and lot more.

Nokia 3 currently retails at around Rs 8,000 online in India and was earlier available through offline channels only. Later it was listed online on Croma (an electric store) as well as offline bookings. As far as specifications are concerned, Nokia 3 comes with 5-inch 2.5 D curved displays with protection. We get 1.3 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MTK 6737 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. Nokia 3 now runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and packs in a 2650 battery inside.

For the optics, we get a combination of 8-megapixel cameras on both front and back with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12-micron size along with flash at the back and display flash at the front. For connectivity, we have Micro USB (USB 2.0), USB OTG, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC for sharing. Apart from this, we get (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. The device measures at 143.4 x 71.4 x 8.48 mm.
