Xiaomi, which yesterday unveiled the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro, has now announced to bring its Mi 4 to India this January 28. Since, Xiaomi sells its devices via Flipkart through flash sales, the Mi 4 will also be sold in similar fashion. According to an NDTV report, Xiaomi will start selling the phone via Flipkart from February 3 after unveiling it on January 28.
Xiaomi had stopped selling its Mi 3 in India sometime back and now it seems that the Mi 4 will be sold as its flagship phone in India. This means that the newly announced Mi Note and Note Pro may not be introduced in India for a long time to come.
Xiaomi Mi 4 offers a 5 inch IPS LCD display with full HD resolution. This Android 4.4.3 KitKat based handset, which comes with MIUI 5.0 interface, was once regarded as one of the fastest smartphone in the world with a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, and 3 GB RAM. The handset comes in 16 GB and 64 GB storage versions and none of them have expandable storage slot.
The Mi 4, which was released in China last August, has a 13 megapixel rear camera with 1/3 inch sensor and an 8 megapixel front camera. This 149 grams weighing smartphone has a 3080 mAh battery that claims to offer up to 280 hours of 3G stand by. It comes with LTE capabilities and offers dual Band WiFi, DLNA, WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, FM Radio, Infrared port, micro USB 2.0 port with USB host features, and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and Beidou.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 was listed on the company’s website for $369.99 or Rs 22,948 for the 16 GB version while the 64 GB version has a price tag of $469.99 or Rs 29,212 approximately.
