Lenovo P700i & S560 smartphones now available for purchase

The mid-range Android smartphones come with dual core processors.

International PC brand, Lenovo has announced the retail availability of its Lenovo P700i and Lenovo S560 smartphones.

Lenovo had announced five smartphones sometime back between Rs 6,499 to Rs 28,499, namely Lenovo K860, S880, S560, P700i and A60+. But the PC maker has now made available only the Lenovo S560 and Lenovo P700i in the market.

Priced well under Rs 15,000 both the smartphones comes with dual core processors and 4 inch displays. Both the Lenovo S560 and Lenovo P700i Android smartphones have a dual and dual standby configuration.

The Lenovo S560, where the S stands for Stylish, is targeted at consumers seeking a chic device with dual SIM support; whereas the Lenovo P700i is targeted at working professionals who seek more battery juice since they are always on the move.

Both smartphones have essentially the same dual core 1 GHz MediaTek 6577 mobile with 512 RAM and 4 on-board storage. There is a slot at the back in both handsets which can accommodate up to a 32 GB memory card. In the handsets, Lenovo offers Android 4.0 ICS with a custom skin layer and round icons on both the smartphones.

Both smartphones have a 4 inch IPS display supporting 800 x 480 pixel natively, and four points of multi-touch. There is a 5 camera module at the back and a 0.3 megapixel camera in the front for video calling. Both smartphones have FM radio with recording facility, but only the P700i has a built-in FM transmitter.

The obvious difference between the devices is their weight and styling. The P700i carries a 2500 battery to make it last longer, while, the S560 has a 2000 mAh battery, which is good enough for a dual SIM device.

The Lenovo S560 costs Rs 14,499 while the Lenovo P700i costs Rs 12,499. However, the devices are available on Snapdeal for a special price of Rs 13,990 for the S560 and 11,900 for the P700i.
