Micromax will release the Jelly Bean update for its Canvas II A110 as early as next week, according to media reports.
However, the update neither will be available over the air nor it users could get it using their computers. Instead, one has to visit the nearest Micromax service centre to get the update.
“We are preparing the Android jelly bean 4.1 update for Canvas II A110 and will notify consumers as to when they need to visit our service centers to get the update,” a spokesperson of Micromax told The Mobile Indian.
He added, “Micromax is working on ways to make the update process smooth and hassle free for consumers and will provide all the necessary information to them regarding this”.
Currently, Micromax Canvas 2 A110 comes with Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and has been hailed by many for its performance. Since Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is better optimised for performance, Canvas 2 is expected to be much better after this update.
The phone is priced at just Rs 9,999 but is selling in the market over Rs 10,500. It comes with a 1 GHz dual core processor, dual SIM, 5 inch screen, 8 Megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB internal memory, 2000 mAh battery etc.
