Infinix to Launch ‘India First’ Smartphone On February 6

Infinix launched two smartphones last year in India - the Zero 5 and the Zero 5 Pro

Infinix, a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings which has brands like itel and Tecno under its portfolio, is all set to launch a selfie-centric, ‘India first’ smartphone in India on February 6. As of now, the exact name of the smartphone is not known.

As per reports, the smartphone will be placed in the mid-price segment under the company’s selfie-centric S-series. After its launch in India, the smartphone is said to be launched for global markets as well.

The upcoming smartphone is expected to come with dual front cameras to allow users add DSLR-like bokeh effects to the selfies. The smartphone is also likely to feature dual-LED flash on the front to help you capture brighter selfies in low-light. At this moment, other information on the phone’s specs like display size, version, processor, battery size and more remains unknown.

Infinix launched two smartphones last year in India – the Zero 5 and the Zero 5 Pro priced at Rs 17,999 and Rs 19,999 respectively. Both the smartphones are exclusively available in the country via Flipkart.

The major highlight of the device is the dual rear camera setup with optical zoom. The phone comes with a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel secondary camera for depth sensing. When combined, the camera gives DSLR-like bokeh effect. For the front, there is a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 and flash for selfies and video calling.

As for the rest of the specifications are concerned, the smartphone sports a 5.98-inch Full JDI display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with 3. The device is powered by 2.6GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 with Mali T880 GPU. The phone is backed by a 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via card slot. There is also a fingerprint sensor at the back of the device.

The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with company’s own XOS Hummingbird v3.0 and not the latest Oreo operating system.The smartphone gets its power from a non-removable 4350mAh with XCharge technology. On the connectivity front, the device support triple sim, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4.2 and + GLONASS. The phone measures 166.38 x 82.38 x 7.95mm and weighs about 197 grams.
