Huawei has today announced itspartnership with Jaunt, a known name in cinematic virtual reality experiences, to provide VR content and technology for its upcoming device Honor 8 Pro, which is scheduled to launch in the first week of July.
Honor 8 Pro will come with a cardboard viewer and there will be a pre-installed Jaunt VR app, through which users can enjoy VR content. Previously, the brand announced that its upcoming smartphone will come loaded with GoPro Quik mobile editing application.
This App will pull the pictures and videos pulled from a new feature/section, Highlight, of the gallery app in Honor 8 Pro. Using the app a user can share the video or further customise it with additional filters, transitions and effects.
To recall, the device was earlier reported to be launched in Russia. The smartphone is essentially the Honor V9, which was launched in China.
According to Huawei’s Russian website, the device will feature a dual-camera setup at the rear which comes loaded with two 12-megapixel sensors. The smartphone also supports 4K recording at 30 frames per second and comes with an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling.
As per the specifications are concerned, the device will feature a 5.7-inch QHD display with a screen Resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a Pixel density of 515ppi. The device is powered by company’s in-house Kirin 960 octa-core processor and is backed by a 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. However, it is not known which variant will be available for the Indian market.
