HTC is all set to launch its next flagship device, the HTC U12+ on May 23. Now, just ahead of official launch, the smartphone press renders and full specifications have been leaked online.
All the information was leaked by renowned tipster Evan Blass and it shows that the upcoming smartphone will come with a translucent design at the back panel that was first seen in the HTC U11. The smartphone will come in Burgundy Red and Black colour option as well. The renders are in line with previous leaks that suggested the similar design language.
Coming to the specifications, the HTC U12+ will feature Liquid Surface design, which is present in company’s latest flagship devices. The phone will feature pressure-sensitive buttons and a ‘new touch feedback experience’.
The smartphone features a 6-inch Quad HD+ Super LCD 6 display with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1440 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The display will support DCI-P3, sRGB mode and HDR 10.
Coming to the hardware, the HTC U12+ is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Processor along with Adreno 630 GPU. The device is backed by a 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via micro SD card slot.
On the camera front, the smartphone comes loaded with a dual-camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel Wide-Angle lens with 1.4-micron pixel size, f/1.75 Aperture and a 16-megapixel telephoto lens with 1.0-micron pixel size, f/2.6 aperture. The rear camera also features UltraSpeed Autofocus 2 (phase detection + laser autofocus) up to 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, dual LED flash, Pro mode, optical image stabilization, AR stickers, face detection, panorama among others. Further, the phone features 4K video recording at 60fps, slow-motion videos at 240fps.
For the front, there will be a dual-camera setup as well with a combination of two 8-megapixel Sensors with 1.12-micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture. The phone will feature Face unlock feature as well along with fingerprint sensor, which is placed on the back panel. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense running on top of it. The phone also comes with EDGE Sense 2.0, which allow users to squeeze to access apps or control the phone, customized gestures, and more. The phone comes with IP68 certification making it water and dust resistant.
For the battery, the phone is equipped with 3500mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 that can charge the device up to 50 percent in 35 minutes. For audio, the HTC U12+ features HTC USonic with active noise cancellation, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, Hi-Res Audio, Qualcomm aptX HD, LDAC and more. On the connectivity front, the phone supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and dual SIM. The phone measures 156.6 x 73.9 x 8.7mm and weighs 188 grams.
