HTC One A9, Gionee Marathon M5 and other devices launched this week (Nov 22-28)

Here are the devices that were launched earlier this week.

This week, Obi re-entered the Indian market while a new brand called Qiku announced its entry into the country with a feature rich smartphone. Besides, there were some notable launches from HTC, Lava, Lenovo and Micromax but the limelight was on a new Gionee handset which came with a huge 6020 battery.

Obi Worldphone SF1

Obi re-entered the Indian market this week with the Worldphone SF1 which will be available for consumers from December 7th, exclusively on NDTV Gadgets360. The smartphone will be available in two variants- one with 2GB RAM/16GB storage at Rs 11,999 and another with 3GB RAM/32GB storage at Rs 13,999; both the models have expandable memory slot as well.

The SF1 has a 5 inch IPS display with full resolution and 4. It comes armed with the Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 octa core processor and 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system. Obi Worldphone SF1 has the Obi Lifespeed custom user interface.

The smartphone has a 5 front camera with LED flash and has a 13 megapixel auto focus camera with an LED Flash in its rear panel. The primary camera has Sony Exmor IMX214 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The phone has a 3000 mAh battery. Besides, the Obi Worldphone SF1 comes with 4G and features a unibody with metallic accents. The Obi Worldphone SF1 supports expandable storage via card (up to 64GB).

HTC Desire 828 andHTC One A9

HTC launched the Desire 828 and One A9 in India this week which will soon be made available in India.

Both HTC Desire 828 and One A9 come with 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, auto focus, BSI sensor, optical image stabilisation and full HD video recording ability. Both of them also offer HTC UltraPixel (4 MP) front camera that comes with f/2.0 aperture, fixed focus and full HD video recording ability.

Both Desire 828 and One A9 also offers 4.1, WiFi (b/g/n/ac), micro USB port, 3.5 mm jack, 4G connectivity and with GLONASS. Other than that nothing is common between these two. The One A9 has a 5 inch display with full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It measures 145.75×70.8×7.26 mm and weighs 143 grams while the HTC Desire 828 is a bigger device measuring 157.7×78.9×7.9 mm and weighs 148 grams as it has a bigger 5.5 inch display. The touchscreen of Desire 828 also offers full HD resolution.

The Desire 828 comes pre-installed with the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and has HTC Sense interface. The OS runs on the 1.5 GHz Mediatek MT6753T octa core processor with 2 RAM. This smartphone offers 16 GB of and a 2 TB micro SD card slot.

On the other hand, the HTC One A9 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with HTC Sense UI on top, the 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa core processor and 2 GB RAM. It has 32 GB of inbuilt storage as well as an expandable storage slot that can hold a 2 TB micro SD card.

The HTC One A9 is a single SIM device with a 2150 mAh battery while the dual SIM Desire 828 offers a 2800 mAh battery.

InFocus M808

InFocus M808 comes in two colors- Metallic Silver and Metallic Gold and is available on Snapdeal for Rs 12,999.

The InFocus M808 has a anodized aluminum uni-body design and is 7.56 mm slim. The M808 sports a 5.2 inch Full HD screen with a of 424 PPI. It is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear Auto-Focus camera and a 5 megapixel front camera with 79 degree wide angle. The phone has a powerful 64 bit 1.3 GHz octa core processor as well as 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory and a 128 GB micro SD card slot.

Besides, the InFocus M808 offers a 2450 mAh battery, (both SIM Cards can support 4G-LTE network), WiFi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS with AGPS and GLONASS.

Intex Cloud Zest

Intex did not formally announce it but nontheless we found it listed on Amazon for Rs 4,999. The smartphone offers a huge 4000 mAh battery that claims to offer talk-time of 15 hours and of 500 hours. The handset is available in black, white and champagne colours.

As per the listing, the Intex Cloud Zest has a 5 inch IPS touchscreen with high definition (1280×720 pixels) resolution. It is based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system that runs on a 1.3 GHz quad core processor. To help the CPU, there is 1 GB RAM in the phone. For storage, the Cloud Zest offers 8 GB of internal memory and an expandable storage slot of 32 GB capacity.

Intex Cloud Zest offers a 5 megapixel rear camera with HDR and slow motion video recording ability and a 2 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The Intex Cloud Zest, which measures 14.6 x 1 x 7.4 cm, weighs 154 grams. It offers Bluetooth, WiFi with Hotspot feature, FM radio, GPS, connectivity and dual SIM.

Gionee Marathon M5

It is the first phone in India to come with a huge 6020 mAh battery. Launched at Rs 17,999, the smartphone is exclusively available from Flipkart and is available for purchase as well.

The Marathon M5 has a huge 6020 mAh battery that claims to offer 2 days of back up for heavy users and four days of back up on moderate usage.

The Android 5.1 based Gionee Marathon M5 has a 5.5 inch that comes with high definition (1280×720 pixels resolution). It is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor and 3 GB RAM. The handset has also plenty of storage space – 32 GB internal and 128 GB micro SD card slot.

Besides, the Marathon M5 offers a 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, dual SIM and 4G connectivity. It measures 152x76x8.55mm and weighs 214 grams. It comes in white, gray and gold colours.

Lava Iris Atom 2X

It was spotted on ebay India for Rs 4,499. The smartphone, as per the listing, offers a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and 1 GB RAM.

The Lava Iris Atom 2X has a 4.5 inch display with 480×854 pixels resolution and is based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. It has 8 GB of inbuilt memory which can be expanded through its expandable storage slot by another 32 GB.

The Atom 2X has a 5 megapixel primary camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. This dual SIM smartphone offers 3G connectivity. Besides, it has Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi (b/g/n), 3.5 mm jack and a micro USB port. The handset measures 66x134x9.15 mm and weighs 130 grams. It has a 2000 mAh battery.

The Lava Iris Atom 2X is available in white colour and offers FM radio too.

Lenovo Vibe S1

This was arguably the most noted smartphone to be launched this week. Priced at Rs 15,999, the Vibe S1 has a unique feature of having two cameras in its front panel – an 8 megapixel unit and a 2 megapixel unit. It also offers a 13 megapixel camera in the back panel.

The Lenovo Vibe S1 has a unibody glass body with metal rim on the sides. The handset is quite sleek with just 7.8 mm thickness and it weighs just 132 grams. The Vibe S1 has a 5 inch touchscreen that comes with full high definition resolution (1920×1080 pixels) and it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well.

The Android Lollipop based Android Vibe S1 comes with the 64 bit Mediatek MT6752 octa core processor that runs the phone with the help of 3 GB RAM and Mali T760 graphics processor. It has huge 32 GB of internal memory and a micro SD card slot that can accommodate a micro SD card of up to 128 GB.

The Vibe S1 has two card slots and it is 4G compatible as well. Besides, it has dual WiFi (a/b/g/n), WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP, FM radio, micro USB 2.0 port and GPS with AGPS.

BeoPlay A6

Danish consumer electronics company, Bang & Olufsen launched its BeoPlay A6 in India earlier this week. BeoPlay A6 features a tap and swipe interface.

It allows you to stream music through AirPlay, DLNA or Bluetooth 4.0. The speaker is armed with a five-channel speaker with four speakers on the front and one full-tone driver pointing backwards. It has a custom-made textile on the front cover is made by Kvadrat, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of design textiles.

BeoPlay A6 features BeoLink Multiroom technology, which unites your B&O PLAY and Bang & Olufsen products into one liberating wireless system. With BeoLink Multiroom you can play different music in different rooms or let one tune flow throughout your home.

BeoPlay A6 will be available in four colours: Light Grey, Dusty Blue, Dark Rose and Dark Grey. Currently the company has a store in DLF Emporio, New Delhi. Interested buyers have to contact the store for pricing and availability details.

Micromax Canvas Pace 4G

Micromax’s latest smartphone, the Canvas Pace 4G, was made available on Friday via eBay for Rs 6,821.

As is obvious from its name, the smartphone is compatible with 4G-LTE networks. The Pace 4G also offers WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and 3G as other connectivity features. This Canvas smartphone has a 5 inch display with 480×854 pixels resolution and it is 8.8 mm thick.

The Micromax Canvas Pace 4G has a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. It offers 4 GB of inbuilt memory of which 3.09 GB is available for users. There is a 32 GB micro SD card slot. It has FM radio too.

Besides, the Pace 4G a 2500 mAh battery that claims to offer 9 hours of talktime. This Android Lollipop operating system based smartphone runs on a 1.1 GHz quad core processor with the help of 1 GB RAM.
