Google is planning to launch a new mid-range Pixel smartphone for the Indian market soon. The company is expected to launch this device this year and it will also unveil the Pixelbook in the country as well.
According to a report by The Economic Times, the search engine giant might unveil the mid-range smartphone around July-August, while the flagship Pixel devices might hit the market around Diwali. “Google is excited about the expansion of the consumer products business in India with the advent of the cheap 4G internet led by Reliance Jio and other operators which it says will help to realise the maximum potential of these products,” a leading retailer told the publication.
This is not it. The company is also planning to launch premium laptop Pixelbook and home automation lineup that could be Nest products like an alarm system, smoke detector, doorbell and more. And its WiFi systems, with Google WiFi.
Further, the brand will also unveil its smart speakers in India as well. The report adds that the company could launch its Google Home and Home Mini speakers around Rs 9,999 and Rs 4,499, to give a stiff competition to the Amazon Echo smart speakers range. The brand is also planning to increase its foothold in the offline market over a period of time.
