Google has pushed out a minor update with few improvements for the Google Maps app on Android platform. The new update brings zoom buttons and a scale bar option to the Android Google Maps app. The update for the Google Maps can be directly downloaded from the Play Store.
Google Maps has the zooming buttons offered in the Labs options as part of experimental features and users had to manually enable or disable them. But with the new Google Maps update, the Zooming buttons are now integrated in the Google Maps app directly.
Another experimental feature – Scale Bar would help avid travellers to estimate the approximate distances on the Map. The Google Maps previously had the feature listed under the Labs.
With both share bar and zoom buttons, Maps can be used to get more accurate distance measurements while travelling in less familiar areas.
