Five reasons that make Android Nougat a promising Mobile OS

The OS is still in its development phase, but Google has shared enough information on its official website about what new features we can hope to see in the upcoming OS.

After seeing Android KitKat, Froyo, Éclair, Lollipop, Marshmallow, we knew Google team has some fascination for sweets and candies. But this fascination got to an all new level when the company yet once again named the latest iteration of its Android N OS as Nougat.

The OS is still in its development phase, but Google has shared enough information on its official website about what new features we can hope to see in the upcoming OS version that is scheduled for an official release this year. Here are top 5 features which I would like to test out as soon as the Nougat is out. Take a look!

1. TV Recording: The freedom of recording your favourite TV shows and the joy of watching them at your own defined time can’t be described-ask any TV series addict. And if one gets a chance to do the same on their mobile device, it sure would be great. But there is a catch: you must know how you should time-shift APIs to record, pause or play the TV show. In simple words, you must be a developer to do this. Fret not, if the feature gets out, we will share a list of easy to do steps that will help you enable this feature on your device. Howzat!

2. Multi-Window support: Yes, Google developers are also working on enabling a split screen feature with Nougat, so that you can view two apps simultaneously with ease. Think of it like the Picture in Picture (PIP) feature that most of the TVs offer.

3. Enhanced emoji support. More real, human like emojis would find way in your mobile chats if with Android Nougat. The value of this feature is just a better, improved way of expressing your emotions on the computer screen, which I believe will be a good add-on.

4. Daydream: Android Nougat will also boast of Daydream, Google’s virtual reality platform, which aims to improve the experience of Cardboard users. I am keen to know how, and this is why I am keeping my fingers crossed.

5. Launcher shortcuts: Custom launcher shortcuts would be allowed with Nougat. With this feature, users might be able to create shortcuts for specific features, for instance you can create a shortcut for a specific folder.
