Dell has launched revamped versions of its Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets in India. The new versions are formally called as Dell Venue 7 3000 and Venue 8 3000 and are priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 18,999 respectively. The Venue 7 3000 though is available online for Rs 11,999 while the other is can be grabbed online for Rs 15,999.
The Dell Venue 7 3000 offers a 7 inch display with HD resolution, Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z3460 processor with Intel HD graphics, 1 GB DDR3 RAM, 16 GB internal storage, and a 4550 mAh battery. The new tablet has a 5 Megapixel rear camera and a 1 megapixel front camera. Besides, the tablet has a micro SD card slot supporting a 64 GB card.
The tablet has a single SIM slot and offers voice calling. As per the press release, the Venue 7 3000 offers 3G connectivity but the Dell India website also mentions LTE connectivity. Other than that the new Venue 7 has WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.
The older version of Venue 7 is based on Android 4.2 and has 3 megapixel rear camera and a 4100 mAh battery. However, it has has much better 2 GB RAM and 128 GB micro SD card slot.
The new Venue 8 3000 has a 8 inch HD display, 2.1 GHz Intel Atom Z3480 processor, 1 GB DDR3 RAM, 16 GB internal storage, Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, 4550 mAh battery, 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, 64 GB micro SD card slot, WiFi, and Blutooth 4.0. It too offers voice calling and 3G (as per website LTE).
The older version of Venue 8 has Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and a bit smaller 4100 mAh battery but comes with much better 32 GB internal storage, 128 GB micro SD card slot, and 2 GB DDR2 RAM.
Design wise too, there are some changes. The new Venue 8 is about 20 grams lighter and 1 mm slimmer and about 4 mm taller than its predecessor. The rear camera also comes in a rectangle design. The rear cover also seems to have a fingerprint design. The new Venue 7 is about 60 grams lighter and is about 1 mm thicker than its older version.
