Buy Apple iPhone 3GS 8 GB for Rs 20,000

Apple iPhone 3GS 8 GB model at a new price of Rs 20,000; and it's time to get ready for iOS 5.0, which should arrive in a couple of months.

Apple iPhone 3GS 8 is now available for Rs 20,000. Apparently this is not an official release from Apple and the company spokesperson in India does not have official information about the price drop.

The Apple iPhone 3GS is said to compete with the Google Nexus S LCD, which too retails for about Rs 20,000.

iPhone 3GS was launched on 19 June 2009 in the USA and on 26 March 2010 in India for nearly Rs 30,000 for 8 GB; while the 16 GB model was priced at Rs 35,500 and 32 GB version cost Rs 41,500. Yesterday, Manish Khatri, a Mumbai-based retailer and owner of Mahesh Telecom, updated via Twitter that the iPhone 3GS 8 GB is available for Rs 20,000.

Apple iPhone 3GS carries distinct features such as a 3.5 inch 320 x 480 pixel display, 3.15 camera with autofocus, and 3G, Bluetooth, and WiFi connectivity. The handset uses a 600 MHz ARM architecture-based processor, 256 MB RAM and 720p video-capable PowerVR SGX 535 graphics chip.

iPhone 3GS doesn’t have a front facing camera and certainly cannot dole out 720p HD video even with official Apple hardware. So that makes Google Nexus S a winner in these two areas, and also with regard to its superior graphics chip.

This all time-lowest iPhone 3GS price makes sense for those who want to try out an Apple machine, and is also for people looking to possess an device that will be compatible with the upcoming iOS 5.0 update.

It would be interesting to see how many people actually go for iPhone 3GS since the iPhone 4 already exists in India, and a new version of iPhone is expected around September.
