Atari has made its debut in Google’s Android Market with the 100 Atari Classic arcade games in one bundle. Just like Atari’s iOS app, this Atari Greatest Hits comes with in-app purchases where in users will have to individually purchase the specific game bundles. Also, one can buy all 100 games at a onetime price of $10 upfront. All time favorite classic games from the 1970s and 1980s decades will be playable on Android devices.
The Atari Greatest Hits App comes with Missile Command game for free. One needs to browse through the catalog of additional game packs to purchase either or all of them. Well the app comes with bunch of classic games but the graphics aren’t up to the mark.
Due to diversity of hardware and software in the Android platform, the performance and graphics of the games will differ from device to device. From Pong, Asteroids, Centipede to Realsports Football — all classic gamepacks are available in the Atari Greatest hits.
From the review comments, it seems there is almost equal number of folks who are happy as well as unhappy with the games. This app seems nothing less than the port of iOS app of the same. The app is available for free and one can download it from Android Market.
