0

Binatone, a maker of consumer electronics, has announced the launch of its latest e-book reader &#151 ReadMe Mobile. Though the company preferred to call the device an e-reader but appearance wise it looks like a cross between personal organiser and tablet.

The Binatone ReadMe Mobile is priced at 129 pounds (about Rs 9,400).

It has a colour screen which is not based on E-ink technology, so reading in the sun would be a bit difficult. Another point that needs to be noted that it has no touchscreen, so any kind of input can only be made through the keypad located beneath the screen.

It runs on the operating system version 2.1 and it allows WiFi connectivity as well so the users can browse the web and do some email work as well, apart from reading books on it. The battery of ReadMe Mobile, the company says, provides six hours of reading time, which is less than impressive.

0

The Vita has some impressive configuration to flaunt as well. The Vita features a quad core mobile based on the Arm Cortex A9 architecture and a dedicated GPU. The device also features a rear and a front camera. The Vita also features a capacitive track pad at the back of the device like the one featured on the Motorola Backflip for easy and accurate navigation.

Mobile gaming set to be more exciting

0

Do you find some mobile games too easy and boring as you can beat your opponents fast; or do you find the game too difficult to finish &#151 in either case the you are likely to ditch the game and lesser is the chance that you will revert to it.

But, now mobile gaming companies have found a way-out to kill these ‘too easy’ or ‘too difficult’ aspects of the games. And, this will be possible thanks to predictive analytics.

Through predictive analytics, the mobile game publishers can analyse the activity of gamers, if during the game users go online, and create a profile for them.

It will not only help these companies to generate more revenue through targeted advertising but they can also help increase the fun quotient of the games.

For example, through these analysis, game publishers can know when you died during the game. So, they can send you the right or an upgraded weapon next time you play the game. It will definitely help you win the game and on the other hand the companies can generate revenue by selling upgraded games/weapons.

Also, if the publishers of a particular game found that the tools are too powerful and thus making it very easy for the user to win the game, then they can just decrease the powers of the tool thereby increasing the fun quotient.

For example, in a tank battle game, if the tank has caused more than 90 per cent of deaths, the data miners will understand that the weapon has more power than needed and they will reduce its power.

Most of the 2011 Xperia software functionality from Sony Ericsson’s newest phone, the Xperia Arc, will be included in the upgrade. The user interface with the desktop layout and pinch-to-overview gesture will be similar to the one found on the Xperia Arc.

Besides, the upgrade will have Gingerbread features like Wi-Fi, tethering, and the facility to store apps on SD-card. Also the customisable horizontal tray and the media experience widgets from the 2011 Xperia Products are there, including an integrated equaliser in the music player. Last but not the least, now users will also be able to download the software’s like Adobe flash that is particularly required for Android 2.3.

For other devices like the Xperia X10 mini, mini pro and X8, there are still no plans to update beyond the current Android 2.2 &#201clair version. All these smartphones have less memory than Xperia X10, so they won’t be able to perform well on the new operating system.
