Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Pro B7510 smartphone in India which is available for Rs 12,300.

The candy bar designed phone has a QWERTY keyboard along with a 2.8 inches touchscreen facility that has a Resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The keypad is paired with four capacitive keys .Galaxy Pro measures 108mm x 66.7mm x 10.7mm and weighs just 103.4 grams.

Pro is based on the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system with a processor which runs at a speed of 800 MHz. It has an internal memory of 512 MB, but can be expanded up to 32 GB using microSD card. Galaxy Pro has a 3.15 Megapixel camera with auto focus which is capable of recording videos at 30 frames per second.With a 1350mAh battery, the handset maker claims that the phone has a Talk time of 660 minutes and 620 hours of standby.
It has IM conversations, quick email access, in addition to social networking websites including Facebook and Twitter. It also provides accessibility to download different books, music and games.

The 3G enabled phone has also WiFi (b/g/n) and GPRS facility.
The smartphone also features the TouchWiz user interface, Google Maps with Latitude, and A-GPS. There is an accelerometer, a digital compass and a proximity sensor.

Recently Samsung has said that it will be launching 11 new feature phones in India in coming two months. Samsung has an impressive kitty when it comes to smartphones including the Nexus S, Wave II, Galaxy Ace, and the Galaxy Tab. Recently, the handset maker has launched the Galaxy SII smartphone in India.

Other Galaxy smart phones in the market are: Galaxy Fit (3.3 inch screen), Ace (3.5 Inch screen), Pop (3.1 inch screen), and Galaxy SII (4.27 inch touchscreen).

Nokia C7, which is powered by Symbian operating system and has integrated Near Field Communications (NFC) support, will now be pre installed with a new version of Angry Birds.

The new version, called Angry Birds Magic, will use NFC to unlock 15 stages of the popular game, made by Finnish App developer Rovio, in addition to five stages which will be available to users at the outset.

“With Angry Birds Magic, friends can group together to combat the pig menace, in a new take on the game that so many people all over the world have fallen love with,” said Mikael Hed from Rovio.

He added, “This is an exclusive offering with the Nokia C7, a smartphone that really kicks off the NFC experience for developers. In time, the communal power of users with Angry Birds Magic could prove even stronger than the Mighty Eagle.”

In order to unlock the additional 15 stages, users need to swipe their device next to another NFC-enabled Angry Birds user’s phone. Five additional levels will be unlocked for each contact.

It is also expected that Angry Birds Magic will be included on all of Nokia’s NFC-enabled devices in 2011, and will be made available through Ovi Store.

We are increasingly becoming tech savvy, sometimes by choice; at other times by compulsion, but a new study suggests that multitasking (such as frequently switching between SMSs, emails and tweets) could take a toll on our mental health.

Researchers at California University have claimed that the latest gadgets could be damaging people’s minds by bombarding them with too much information from multiple sources, and also weakening their ability to screen irrelevant data and prioritise what is important, the ‘San Fransico Chronicle’ reported.

The study has found that multitasking can also hamper short-term memory performance, especially among older people.

Moreover, there are concerns over the possibility of technology addiction, which can be observed in cases where people get restless when their phone’s battery is low or when they misplace their phones.

In their study, they found that multi-taskers performed worst in tests where they had to jump from one task to another, suggesting that they were easily distracted by irrelevant information.

The researchers quoted other researches that show people are spending more time connected to a keyboard.

The lethal combination has forced some scientists to call for a “technology diet” to prevent information overload.

Dr Elias Aboujaoude, director of Stanford’s Impulse Control Disorders Clinic, was quoted by the ‘Daily Mail’ as saying, “The best way to define it is in terms of the offline consequences. Are we suffering in terms of our cognition and attention spans because of all the time we spend online?

iPhone 4 is one of the most used cameras on Flickr, the image and video hosting website. Perhaps this makes iPhone 4 the finest smartphone camera till date.

According to Flickr, most of its users prefer Nikon D90, a digital single lens reflector (SLR) camera used by professional photographers. But, the iPhone 4 is gaining ground quickly and comes second in the list. The website also said that 5.8 million photographs taken with the iPhone 4 were uploaded on Flickr last year.

iPhone 4 has a 5 Megapixel camera with illumination, which helps users take better pictures even in low light environments.

According to Flickr, the popularity of point and shoot cameras is gradually going downhill. Also, other devices from Apple such as iPad 2 and iPod Touch are not that popular among Flickr’s users.

The other cameras popular among users of the site include Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, and Canon EOS Rebel T1i.

The popularity of iPhone 4 on Flickr does not mark the death of other conventional cameras yet, but it does indicate that even serious photography enthusiasts prefer iPhone 4 over compact cameras.
