A security researcher found a major security vulnerability that if exploited would have allowed an attacker to have cancelled a booked ticket on train-ticketing site IRCTC. The flaw, if remained unfixed could have allowed any hacker to access personal details like address and phone number of any of the million users.

The new railway ticket booking website no longer asks for a user’s log-in credentials to search for trains or enquire about the availability of the seats. There is also an additional feature that lets users check the probability of a waiting list ticket getting confirmed.
