Specifications

The device features a 5.2 inch Full 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by Huawei’s in-house (2.1 GHz + 1.7 GHz) Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor, along with an ARM Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via card.

Design

Honor 8 Lite has a dual glass body, which surely stands out of the crowd of metal and plastic body phones. It is slim and light to hold. Regarding numbers, it has a just 7.6mm thickness and weighs 147 grams. The side bezels on this one are quite thin, and the navigation buttons are on-screen. Just above the display, you will find the front-facing camera along with an earpiece and a bunch of usual including the ambient-light sensor.

Camera

The camera is one of the most important features that people look in a smartphone before buying it, and Honor 8 Lite will not disappoint you on this parameter. Honor 8 Lite has a 5.2-inch Full HD display which offers a vibrant and punchy colours coupled with some good viewing angles. Even outdoor visibility is good and auto brightness feature quickly adjusts to the environment.

User Interface

Coming to software, the Honor 8 Lite runs on 7.0 Nougat with Huawei’s new EMUI 5.0 on top. The EMUI 5.0 is now cleaner, lighter and faster as compared to previous versions. It allows the user to choose between standard layout and an drawer, which is a good move. Navigating between the apps and screens is quite smooth as well. One can also change the navigation keys according to their wish. The UI comes loaded with some India-centric features including a Hindu calendar, which showcases all the panchangs and dashas.

There are also smart assistance features including floating dock, motion control, one-handed UI, voice control and more. The new UI also brings a new mode called – ‘Privacy Space’ that switches access using a revamped fingerprint technology. Moreover, it also combines cloud-based dynamic and static antivirus with a local antivirus and scans hyperlinks in on a real-time basis for security.
