The leak reveals the basic design layout which isn’t surprising - there’s a glass back and single camera at the rear end. The glass panel in itself is decorated in white, space grey, pink and red colours, which means Apple might not be waiting until spring 2019 to start selling the Product RED version.
Apple is expected to launch three iPhone models - a standard but improved 5.8-inch iPhone, a cheaper 6.1-inch LCD iPhone and a high-end iPhone with similar dimensions to the iPhone 8 Plus. The 2018 lineup of Apple iPhones will be unveiled on September 12, at the Steve Jobs Theater inside the Apple Park in Cupertino.
In the 2016 and 2017 years, Google had unveiled the Pixel phones on 4th October. So it was expected that new series phones will also be launched at the same time this year. Earlier leaks had however also hinted that the phones have got a launch date as October 4, but the new report has now suggested that the phones will be launched on October 9 instead.
While there’s a chance that Apple is letting go of its stubbornness and is finally letting users install two SIMs on the same device, it will be more logical to think the dual SIM iPhone could be the much-talked-about ‘affordable’ iPhone which is expected to be one of the three Apple smartphones to be launched.
The news comes in the aftermath of legal disputes between Apple and Qualcomm which has been going on for a long time. Apple sued Qualcomm for close to $1 billion for excessive royalties in January 2017, months after which Qualcomm sued Apple for making their modems seem inferior to Intel’s.
The 6.1-inch iPhone will feature an LCD display, while the other two will spot OLED screen.
