The Realme 1 smartphone features 6.0-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 84.75 percent screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone is powered by 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6771 processor, which is none other than Helio P60. The smartphone comes loaded with a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and bokeh effect. For the front, there will be an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling along with portrait mode.
Realme has now announced that beta testing for the Android Pie-based ColorOS 6 update will start on May 15 for the Realme 2 Pro. This will be followed by the Realme 1 and Realme U1 on June 5; and Realme 2 and Realme C1 on June 15. With ColorOS 6, Realme will also add Hyper Boost 2.0 on all its phones.
During the sale, Realme 2 Pro will receive a price cut of Rs 1,000 during the sale and will start at Rs 10,990 for the 4GB/64GB model. The Realme U1 will also be available for a starting price of Rs 8,999. Realme is offering free Realme Buds the first 500 customers of the Realme 2 Pro and Realme U1.
Realme revealed that the Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, Realme C1 and Realme U1, all will be updated to Google’s Android 9 Pie andthe latest ColorOS 6.0 UI. Realme also revealed that all of its older smartphone will also receive security patches prior to the major software update.
ColorOS 6 on Realme smartphones will unlock the ability to access apps through an app drawer in the near future. Until now, Realme phones featured iPhone-like app layout on the home screen which added the newly installed apps directly on the screen.
The news comes from changelogs released officially by Realme in its forum, the first of which was posted for the Realme 1 device. The update shifts the build number of the device to CPH1861EX_11.A.27 and features the latest December 2018 batch of Android Security updates from Google.
The development comes as a reply to a tweet by Realme India’s support team who implied that Realme smartphones (probably all of them) will be up to date with the newest Android 9 Pie features. The company indicated that the devices will get hold of the update in the first or second quarter of 2019.
ColorOS 5.2 brings with it a slew of additions to the Realme 1 and Google’s October 2018 Android security updates. Among the added features, the update includes one swipe dismiss for notifications, a headset icon in the status bar, new desktop icons and a smart bar for seamless multitasking.
The latest update features the latest security updates dated for November 2018 from Google. In addition to that, the update features several system optimisations inside the ColorOS including single swipe gestures to dismiss notifications and a new headset icon in the status bar during calls.
As the first product of this new brand, Realme 1 has consistently topped the Amazon Bestseller rankings in the past 2 months and has also been featured as the highest rated phone with a 4.4 rating on Amazon India.
The new colour option is available for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option and it is priced at Rs 10,990. The brand recently introduced a Silver Limited Edition for its latest smartphone in June this year. With this, the smartphone will be now available in Diamond Black, Solar Red and Moonlight Silver.
There is also a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model with a price tag of Rs 10,990 of Oppo Realme 1 which is likely to go on sale in the second week of June. The smartphone is exclusively available on Amazon India for sale.
