Xiaomi has today announced the launch of its latest flagship smartphone, the Redmi K20 Pro, in India. So, let's take a closer look at what you need to know about the latest Redmi K20 Pro.
Redmi K20 Pro: Price and Availability
Redmi K20 Pro comes with a price tag of Rs 27,999 for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 30,999. The smartphone will be available for purchase from Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting from July 22.
Redmi K20 Pro: Display
The Redmi K20 Pro features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Horizon Display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels along with 2.5D Corning Gorilla 5 protection. This is the first smartphone from Xiaomi to feature an AMOLED display.
Redmi K20 Pro: Design
The smartphone is available in three colour options including Glacier Blue, Flame Red and Carbon Black. The company has introduced a new gradient finish known Aurora Prime, which gives different pattern when lights falls on it.
Redmi K20 Pro: Hardware
On the hardware front, the smartphone is equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with Adreno 640 GPU. The phone is available in two memory options, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Sadly, the company has given an option to expand the storage in the Redmi K20 Pro.
Redmi K20 Pro: Pop-up selfie camera
This is the first Xiaomi smartphone in India to feature a pop-up selfie camera. The company claims that it has teased to work 300,000 times. This means users can use it take 100 selfies a day for more than 8 years.
Redmi K20 Pro: Rear Camera
Redmi K20 Pro features a triple-camera setup with a combination of added a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor as a primary lens with f/1.75 aperture along with a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens (124.8-degree field of view) and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom.
Redmi K20 Pro: Front Camera
The company has added a 20-megapixel selfie camera for selfies and video calling. The camera pops up in just 0.03 seconds to take a selfie. It also comes with drop protection.
Redmi K20 Pro: Software
On the software front, the Redmi K20 Pro runs on MIUI 10, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The company has added the Poco Launcher, which brings the support for app drawer to the MIUI 10.
Redmi K20 Pro: Battery
On the battery front, the Redmi K20 Pro features a 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. However, you need to purchase the charger separately and the company has bundled an 18W fast charger.
Redmi K20 Pro: In-display fingerprint sensor
This is also the first smartphone from Xiaomi to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The sensor is quite fast to unlock the device and one can use different animations for the in-display sensor.
Redmi K20 Pro: Other features
Apart from this, the Redmi K20 Pro features Hi-Fi audio and it features a dual-band GPS technology which uses L1 and L5 frequencies to track the location accurately. On the connectivity front, the Redmi K20 pro include USB Type C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, VoLTE, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, and Dual Nano SIM with dual standby.
Redmi K20 Pro: Competition
As for the competition is concerned, the smartphone will give a stiff competition to the likes of OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10e in India.
