The HTC U Play sports a 5.2-inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920x1080 IPS LCD display.
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor and will be made available in 3GB RAM and 32GB, and 4GB RAM/64GB storage options.
The device runs on Android 60 Marshmallow and is powered by a 2500 mAh battery
On the connectivity front, the device support 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, NFC, DLNA, Miracast, HTC Connect and USB 2.0 Type-C.
On the camera front, the device is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, OIS, PDAF, f2/2.0 aperture, while for the front there is a 16-megapixel front shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 28mm focal length.
HTC has skipped the 3.5 mm headphone jack on the HTC U Play and instead have gone for a USB Type-C port for both charging and headphones.
HTC's Sense Companion is also here but it doesn't come pre-installed on the U Play. The company will soon roll out an update which will enable the AI-based assistant.
