Xiaomi introduced Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in India February this year with Android 7.1 Nougat. The company recently rolled out Oreo update for the Note 5 Pro and now it is time for the Redmi Note 5.
As per a report by XDA Developers, Xiaomi has started rolling out stable Android 8.1 Oreo update to the Redmi Note 5. The report says that the update will bring the MIUI 9.6.5.5.0 version to the latest smartphone. Users can go to Settings> About Phone > System Updates to check for the latest update.
However, as per some users, the new update is buggy. A user has revealed that with the new update, the camera application is not working properly and it freezes sometimes when saving photos. He further says that the recorded audio quality has been not up to the mark with the latest update. Xiaomi is yet to make an official statement on this matter.
