This is the cheapest octa core smartphone in the market now. The 1.4 GHz octa core processor of Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 is also backed by 1 GB but it runs on the older 4.4 KitKat operating system. Thankfully, Micromax has promised to release the Android Lollipop operating system for the phone in future.

The Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 has a 5 inch IPS display with of 1280 x 720 pixels. The display has 3 that protects it from scratches while Oleophobic coating prevents smudges.

For storage there is 8 GB of built in storage and it has an expandable storage slot of 32 GB capacity. The phone has a 13 megapixel auto focus rear camera with Largan 5P lens and a 2 megapixel front camera with OV2680 OminiPixel3-HS. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, with A-GPS.

Lava Iris X8

The Lava Iris X8 has one of the best combination of features in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment. To start with it has 5 inch display with high definition resolution and Asahi protective glass. The phone comes pre-installed with Android KitKat operating system but is upgradable to the latest Android Lollipop version.

The Lava Iris X8 also has huge 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB as well as an expandable storage slot that can hold a micro card of up to 32 GB. The dual SIM Iris X8 has an 8 megapixel rear Auto Focus camera with BSI III Sensor while in the front there is a 3 megapixel snapper.

It comes with 5.5 inch IPS display with full high definition resolution and is powered by the Snapdragon 615 octa core processor. It has huge 2 GB DDR3 RAM and runs on Cyanogen OS 12 that is based on Android operating system.

The Yu Yureka Plus has 16 GB of internal memory and and a 32 GB micro SD card slot in the phone. Yureka Plus sports a 13-megapixel rear camera an flash along with a 5-megapixel front camera. Infocus M330 – Rs 8,999

US based InFocus entered the Indian market earlier this year with a range of smartphones including the InFocus M330 which impressed us a lot during our review.

The InFocus M330 features a 5.5 inch IPS display resolution with Gorilla Glass 2 coating. InFocus M330 is powered by Mediatek (MTK MT6592) 1.7 GHz Octa Core processor and 2 GB RAM.

It has 16 GB of internal storage and you can expand it to up to 64 GB via a micro SD card. It runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Infocus M330 is armed with a power packed 3100 mAh Li-Po battery that claims to offer18 hours of talktime and of 550 hrs.

The Lenovo K3 Note is one of the most feature rich smartphones in this segment. Its big 5.5 inch touchscreen has full high definition resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels – the best you can have in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.7 GHz MediaTek MT6752 64-bit octa core processor and 2 GB RAM and the latest Android 5.0 operating system. The Lenovo K3 Note has huge 16 GB of internal storage as well as expandable memory of 32 GB.

The Lenovo K3 Note offers a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash light and a 5 megapixel front camera. The front camera comes with three lens element that claims to click distortion free images and there is auto selfie beautification feature as well.

The 8 mm thin Lenovo K3 Note weighs 150 grams with a 3000 mAh Li-Po battery that claims to offers 36 hours of 3G talktime and standby time of 750 hrs.
