For buying the JioPhone from Amazon, interested people have to first pay Rs 1,500.
Reliance Jio made some massive waves in the telecom and mobile industry when it introduced its first 4G VoLTE supported JioPhone in India last year. Now the JioPhone is now available for purchase on Amazon India as well. Earlier, the phone was made available only on retail stores. The feature phone was listed on Amazon last month but it is now finally officially available for sale on the e-commerce website.
For buying the JioPhone from Amazon, interested people have to first pay Rs 1,500. Once they receive the handset, they have to visit the nearest Jio Store or Reliance Digital outlet with device, packaging box and Aadhaar number to activate the JioPhone.
Once it is activated, JioPhone users will be able to access the Jio app suite including JioTV, JioCinema, and JioMusic. The initial payment of Rs 1,500 will be refunded in two instalments over next three years. To avail the refund, users will have to make a mandatory monthly recharge of Rs 153, which offers 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls including roaming and free SMSes.
To recap the specs of JioPhone, it features a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor which will either Spreadtrum SPRD 9820A or QC8905 along with Mali 400 GPU. The phone is backed by a 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.On the camera front, the device comes loaded with a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera. It is juiced up by a 2000mAh battery, which the company claims to give a talk time of 12 hours and standby time of 15 days. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1 with BLE, GPS, NFC and micro USB 2.0. It supports 22 Indian languages and the device will also come with TV-Cable that will allow users to connect their JioPhone with TV ( not only Smart TVs but also CRT TVs) to watch live TV.

Meanwhile, the feature phone recently received Facebook as its first third-party application. The official Facebook app has been custom built for KaiOS, a web-based operating system designed for JioPhone. The app is available for download from Jio App store on the feature phone.
