Having launched the Realme X and Realme X Youth Edition last month, Realme is now preparing for the unveiling of yet another smartphone and this time it’ll come with native support for 5G. The upcoming Realme 5G phone is slated to launch later this year and will come to India as part of the launch.

The news comes directly from Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth who took to Twitter to reveal that Realme will be one of the first manufacturers to introduce a 5G smartphone “globally” in 2019. Sheth also disclosed that the Realme 5G smartphone will come to India as early as possible.

It’s unclear whether the slated 5G phone will be a new edition of an already launched Realme product. The Realme X was released last month and there’s a possibility that the 5G enabled version launches as a Pro variant with possibly a high-end chipset.

The Realme X features a 6.5-inch Full Samsung’s AMOLED full-screen display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, 5 and 91.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by Snapdragon 710 with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The phone sports an AI dual rear camera setup with 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 as primary sensor and 5-megapixel as secondary along with an LED flash. There’s a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Realme X runs on 9 Pie operating system based on ColorOS 6.0 and gets its juices from a 3765mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 support.
