Motorola Moto Maxx, the costliest handset in Motorola’s stable, is now expected to hit the Indian shores. The rumours started flying after Flipkart, the sole retailer of the company in India, tweeted a Motorola logo based picture with a message, “There’s a Moto beast coming your way… exclusively on Flipkart. Stay tuned for more details. #MotoOnFlipkart.”
The terms in the advertisement – turbocharged, accelerated performance, nylon fairing – are all now interpreted as the hint for the Moto Maxx.
Announced last November, the Motorola Moto Maxx comes with a 5.2 inch OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen and 1440×2560 pixels resolution. This curvy smartphone has Android KitKat OS at the time of launch but is said to get the Android 5.0 (may be it will be launched with the latest version in India).
Besides, the Motorola Moto Maxx offers Snapdragon 805 quad core processor, 3 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage but has no expandable storage facility. There is a 21 Megapixel camera in the Moto Maxx’s rear panel while in its front lies a 2 megapixel unit.
The splash resistant Moto Maxx has a single SIM and offers 4G connectivity. It also has dual band WiFi, WiFi Direct, DLNA, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Infrared port, micro USB port, and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS. It has a huge 3900 mAh Li-Po battery.
The Motorola Moto Maxx was launched last year in Brazil for Rs 49,000 approximately and if launched in India, it will be the costliest smartphone of the company in this market as well.
Note that Motorola re-entered the Indian market early last year with Moto G for Rs 12,499 (8 GB version) and Rs 13,999 (16 GB). Later on it launched Moto E, its cheapest, at Rs 6,999 followed by Moto X, a mid-range smartphone. The latest Nexus smartphone, the Nexus 6, too is made by Motorola and is sold for about Rs 44,000.
