Micromax to launch three 4G smartphones this month under Rs 10K

The Indian handset maker has promised to launch five more devices by Diwali

Micromax is reportedly planning to launch eight enabled smartphones this year, of which three will be released this month itself while five more devices will be launched by Diwali.

Notably, the three 4G handsets to be launched this month will be priced under Rs 10,000 while the other five devices will be launched under Rs 6,600.

“We are going to launch three 4G devices below $150 (Rs 9,900) within this month and by Diwali another five devices, which will be in the $100 range (Rs 6,600), so we will have a full portfolio below Rs 10,000,” Micromax Informatics’ chief executive officer Vineet Taneja was quoted as saying by ET.

Micromax, which is the second largest handset maker of India after Samsung, yesterday announced the Canvas Fire 4G (we don’t know whether it was part of the three devices it is planning to launch this month).

Reportedly, the Micromax Canvas Fire 4G has a 4.5-inch display, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, card slot, 5-megapixel rear camera with flash, 2-megapixel selfie camera, dual speakers, and the 5.1 Lollipop operating sytem.
