In May this year, HMD Global promised to deliver Android P update to all Nokia smartphones. Now seems like the Nokia phones will get the Android P update as early as August this year. This means Android P will come to all Nokia smartphones made by the Finnish company, from Nokia 1 to Nokia 8 Sirocco, including the newly announced Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1.
As per a report of NokiaPowerUser, the mail comes from Nokia Mobile Care and it has revealed that all Nokia phones will start getting the Android P update from “sometime in August”. So it means that a stable version of Android P should be announced by latest in August month for the Nokia phones. Although no particular timeline has been announced for the roll out.
The Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7, and Nokia 6.1 already have a beta version of Android P available. Almost all the phones by Nokia are under the Android One program, which means that the devices are eligible for receiving timely Android updates and monthly security updates.
The recently launched Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and the Nokia 5.1 will be also be updated to Android P in August. Other smartphones to get the Android P update includes Nokia 1, Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8, and Nokia 8 Sirocco.
HMD Global also recently started rolling out Android P Beta 2 for the Nokia 7 Plus. So, the Nokia 7 Plus is already a member of the Android P Beta squad and is expected to be the first Nokia device to run on Google’s upcoming mobile operating system.
