Devices launched this week

A lot of devices were launched this week as buying activities picked up this week following the start of festive season.

This week big deals and discounts were in the headlines for most of the time, thanks to Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal’s much advertised sales. However, a number of devices were also launched in the Indian market and much more devices are expected as Diwali is approaching fast when many in India gift smartphones and others gadgets to their loved ones. So if you have missed the new devices, here is a recap for you.

Vivo Y55L

Vivo Y55L was launched in India this week at Rs 11,980. It will be available from October 10 but only through offline channels.

The Vivo Y55L has a 5.2 inch display and the 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 430 octa core processor. This Marshmallow based smartphone has 2 RAM and Vivo’s Funtouch user interface.

Vivo Y55L has a metal body and a dual SIM card tray. There is a micro SD tray is also there. It has 16 GB of internal storage to which you can add another 128 GB through its expandable storage slot. It has OTG support as well.

The Vivo Y55L has a 2650 battery. Besides, it has dual SIM slot, 4G with VoLTE, WiFi (VGN), Adreno 505 graphics processor, 4.1, GPS, WiFi Hotspot and 4G.

Oppo F1S Diwali Edition

Oppo announced a special Diwali Edition this week which will retail at the same price as the normal version, i.e. Rs 17,990. Interested user can pre-order the phone from 8th to 13th October through Oppo concepts stores. The first sale is scheduled to be held on October 14th on Snapdeal, as well as on Oppo concepts stores across the country.

The Diwali edition of Oppo F1s comes with special Diwali packing and has gilded Diwali pattern along with joint signatures of Sonam Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan.

Besides, the phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop which is wrapped under with ColorOS 3.0 user interface. Other than that the Oppo F1s offers 4G connectivity with VoLTE support, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n), GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and a port. The handset measures 154.5 x 76 x 7.38 mm and weighs 160 grams.

Intex Aqua Pro 4G, Aqua Raze II

The Intex Aqua Pro 4G is priced at Rs 5,390 and comes in two different colors- Dark Blue and Champagne. While the Intex Aqua Raze II is priced at Rs 5,390 and comes in three colour options- White, Dark Blue and Champagne.

On the other hand, the Intex Aqua Raze II is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core (SC9832A) processor and is backed up by a 1750 mAh battery, which claim to offer up-to 5-6 hours of talk-time and up-to 220-250 hours of standby time. The handset measures 137 x 68 x 9.5 mm and weighs 128.4 grams. Rest of the specifications are identical to above mentioned Intex Aqua Pro 4G smartphone.

Asus ROG GL502VS, G752VS

Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the launch of two new compact gaming notebooks – ROG GL502VS and G752VS – in India which are equipped with the VR-Ready Nvidia Pascal GeForce GTX 10 series graphics card.

Finished in an Armor Titanium and Plasma Copper color scheme, this laptop comes with the latest Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GPU, Windows 10 Pro, 6th generation Intel Skylake unlocked Core i7 processor and up to 64GB DDR4 RAM. The ROG G752VS’s unlocked processor has an overclocking toolkit, allowing users to overclock the system to speeds of up to 4.0GHz.

Celkon Diamond 4G Plus

This week, Celkon brought a 2 GB RAM model of ‘Diamond 4G Plus’ smartphone at Rs 6,666. Earlier in April this year, the Diamond 4G Plus 1 GB RAM variant was launched at Rs 6,369. The 2 GB version is listed on the company’s website and comes in Grey and Gold colours. Another e-retailer site e-bay is also selling the Celkon Diamond 4G Plus 2GB for Rs 6,999.

The Celkon Diamond 4G Plus 2GB has the same specs as of previous Celkon Diamond 4G Plus except the RAM and internal memory. The new Celkon Diamond 4G Plus has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory as compared to 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory in the earlier one.

Like the older mode, the new Celkon Diamond 4G Plus also offers a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display and a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek processor. It too runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and comes packed with a 2200 mAh Lithium ion battery.

LYF Flame 7S

LYF has been churning out phones at a rapid pace. The Flame 7S is its latest offering in the budget segment. Priced at Rs 3,499, it and comes in Black, and Red colours.

With 13 megapixel front and rear cameras and an Iris scanner, it was one of the prominent phones to be launched this week.

It is now listed on LYF website for Rs 7,699. Along with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display, 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU, this phone offers Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system. It is now available at Rs 13,999. The iBall Slide Q27 4G has a 10.1-inch display with 1280×800 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex A53 64-bit processor and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The iBallSlide Q27 4G tablet comes with Mali 400 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up-to 32GB through a micro SD card.

That’s why perhaps Lava brought two ‘Captain Series’ feature phones this week. The series comprises two feature phones: Captain N1 and Captain K1+, which have been launched at Rs 1,150 and Rs 1,250 respectively.

Both Captain N1 and Captain K1+ have 4.5 cm (1.8″) screen along with a 3.5 mm port and wireless FM. Both the handsets are equipped with a rear camera, which records video and even allows digital zoom to capture images. Captain N1 and Captain K1+ also have bluetooth and auto call recording feature.

Multi-lingual support on both the devices enables users to bridge the language barrier and help in communicating in the language of their choice. Captain N1 comes with in-built support for three Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, while Captain K1+ supports Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Kannada.
