Apple has made a host of new announcement at the first day of annual developer conference known as Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2017. The brand has added the third member to its iPad Pro series with the launch of 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
The company has also updated 12.9-inch iPad Pro model with the latest specifications. The price of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro starts at $649 (approx. Rs 42,000) for the WiFi model, while the cellular model comes with a starting price of $779 (approx. Rs 51,000). The 10.5-inch iPad Pro comes in silver, space grey, gold and rose gold. Both models will be available next week in Apple Stores, through select carriers and Apple Authorised Resellers (prices may vary) in the US, while the devices will be available in India by later this month.
The major highlight of the new iPads is the new display wit ProMotion technology and the latest A10X Fusion chip. Starting with the ProMotion technology, it delivers refresh rates up to 120Hz, which makes more responsive and one will see smoother motion content. The new iPads also features redesigned Retina display, which Apple claims to the brightest iPad display yet. The latest iPads comes loaded with iOS 10, however, they will be updated with the official launch of iOS 11 this fall.
Coming to the new 64-bit A10X Fusion chip, it comes to a six-core CPU and 12-core GPU deliver up to 30 percent faster CPU performance and 40 percent faster graphics performance than the A9X chip while delivering all-day battery life.
The latest iPad Pros comes loaded with the cameras, which is present in iPhone 7, including a 12-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation at the rear, and a 7-megapixel FaceTime HD camera at the front. iPad Pro also features a four-speaker audio system, providing powerful, clear and rich stereo sound in any orientation. There is also embedded Apple SIM2 and new iPads support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi and LTE Advanced3 make it easier to stay connected when travelling in more than 180 countries and regions, as per company’s claim.
The company has also introduced Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard along with new iPad Pro. The company says that advanced sensors in Apple Pencil measure both pressure and tilt for natural drawing, annotating and note-taking. A new full-sized Smart Keyboard has been custom designed for the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, offering a thin yet durable keyboard that never needs to be charged or paired over Bluetooth and is easily foldable into a protective Smart Cover.
