After introducing digital books in English, Amazon India has today added thousands of digital books in Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati and Malayalam to the Kindle Book Store. The new additions include some of the best sellers, some exclusive titles, and some free classics. Before this, there were over three million books available on the Kindle Book Store. A user can read the new as well as the old collection on their Kindle eReaders as well as through Kindle apps on Android and iOS.
To name some of the new additions, Kindle Book Store now has “Ishq Mein Shahar Hona” by Ravish Kumar and “Theek Tumhare Peechhe” by Manav Kaul (Hindi), “Rajaraja Chozhan” by Sa. Na. Kannan, and “Vantharkal Ventrarkal” by Madhan (Tamil), “Mrutyunjay” by Shivaji Sawant and “Yayati” by Vishnu Sakharam Khandekar (Marathi), “Ek Bija Ne Gamta Rahiye” by Kaajal Oza Vaidya and “Bhagvan Ni Tapal” by Gunvant Shah (Gujarati), “Aarachar” by K R Meera and “Ente Katha” by Madhavakutty/Kamala Das (Malayalam).
Not only this, the new additions also include translations of famous global titles including “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, “The Monk who sold his Ferrari” by Robin Sharma and contemporary best sellers like “The Secret of Nagas” by Amish Tripathi. Free classics like “Godan” by Munshi Premchand, “Parthiban Kanavu” by Kalki Krishnamurthy, “Deshbandhu Das” by Sane Guruji, “Thag” by Ramanlal Vasantlal Desai and “Chandalabhikshuki” by N. Kumaran Asan. Further, Amazon has also added a bunch of Indian language titles to Kindle Unlimited through which one can freely read as much as they want.
As per the release, Amazon India has brought all the loved features of the Kindle reading experience to the Indian audience as well such as font size adjustment, ability to add notes and highlights, and automatically save and sync of your furthest page. In other words, one can start reading a book on one device and later on continue on another device.
Recently, Amazon also announced that it will soon bring the famous Amazon Prime video service to India.
