The Jio users continue to get free unlimited voice and data till 31st December 2016.
An alleged Reliance Jio postpaid bill of Rs 27,718 has been doing rounds on social media network for last couple of days. The bill is reportedly issued to Mrs Ayunuddin Mondal of Kolkata circle. The bill shows November 20, 2016 as the due date and after the due date the penalty of Rs 1,100 would be charged.
It is a well known fact that the Reliance is offering unlimited 4G data and Calls (VoLTE support) under its Jio Welcome Offer which is valid for all users until December 31, so no one will get a bill till then.
To clear the air around the alleged bill, Reliance Jio spokesperson has said to ET , "The bill in circulation is fake. Currently, we are offering services under Jio welcome offer, and we reassure our existing customers as well as potential customers who subscribe to Jio connection till December 3 that benefits of free unlimited voice and data will be available to all till 31st December 2016."
Recently, there were reports that Reliance Jio might expand the Welcome offer beyond the December 31 deadline and the offer might be extended to March 2017.
Latterly, Reliance Jio was in the line of fire by the Jio users for not providing the promised speed, which later the company justified by pointing out to the Fair Usage Policy referring to which one is only eligible to use 4GB 4G data per day.
