Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA vs Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1: Battle for the best convertible laptops

Both the laptops have a lot to offers and come with some interesting specs sheet. But which one is better?

Asus has come up with a new hybrid laptop known as ZenBook Flip UX360CA which is now priced at Rs 57,479 and Dell has Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 for Rs 52,990. Both the laptops have a lot to offers and come with some interesting specs sheet. But which one is better? Let’s try and analysis it.

Design

Starting with the Asus ZenBook Flip, the laptop comes with a sleek design. The company has added a ‘spun-metal finish’ with the “Zen-inspired pattern of concentric circles” design on the cover. The laptop measures 32.3 (width) x 22.0 (depth) x 1.39 ~1.39mm (height) and is lightweight with 1.3 kg.

On the other hand, the Dell Inspiron 13 5000 comes in a hue that Dell calls “theoretical grey.” The laptop is a bit thicker as compared to the ZenBook Flip with 325 x 224 x 20.4mm measurement and heavier with weighing 1.62kg. Both the laptops come with a 360-degree rotatable screen, but if you ask us, we will opt for Asus ZenBook Flip as it comes with better design language, is sleek and lighter than Dell’s 2-in-1 making it easier to carry around.

On the display front, the Asus ZenBook Flip sports a 13.3 LED-backlit display with a screen of 1920×1080 pixels coupled with 72 percent NTSC colour. On the other hand, Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 comes with 13.3-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Truelife LED-Backlit display. As both the laptops come with an almost similar display, we call this round a tie.

Hardware and Software

The heart of any laptop lies in its hardware. Keeping that in mind both the laptops are specced pretty decently. Starting with the Asus ZenBook Flip, the laptop comes with 6th-generation Intel core m7 6Y30 (4M Cache, up to 2.2 GHz) with Integrated Intel HD Graphics 515. The laptop is backed by a 4 and 512GB GB SSD storage options. The laptop comes with chiclet keyboard which the company’s claims a travel of 1.5mm and is equipped with Bang and Olufsen speakers.

On the other hand, the Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 is equipped with 6th Generation Intel Core i3-6100U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.30 GHz) along with Intel HD Graphics 520. The laptop packs a 4GB of RAM and 1TB of storage option. The laptop comes with a backlit keyboard and there are two brightness levels as well as the option to turn it off completely. The device also comes with dual tuned speakers powered by Waves MaxxAudio Pro.

Both the laptops run on the latest Windows 10 Home and houses an HD camera and 3.5mm audio jack. Looking at the sheer specs sheet, Dell Inspiron 13 emerges as a clear winner as it comes with some advanced specs, more storage option and a better keyboard as compared to the Asus ZenBook Flip.

Battery and Connectivity

On the battery front, the Asus ZenBook Flip is backed by 3 Cells 54 Whrs Polymer battery, and Asus is promising 12 hours of usage time on a single charge. The laptop support connectivity ports like one 3.1 Type C port, USB-C Gen 1 port, one micro HDMI port, one card reader and one AC adapter plug. The laptop also offers Wi-Fi 802.11 AC and v4.1.

The Dell Inspiron is backed by a 42WHr, 3-Cell battery and offers connectivity ports including one HDMI v1.4a port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, micro SD card reader. The device supports connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0. Judging by the battery power and connectivity options, Asus ZenBook Flip is the winner of this round.

Wrapping up, both the laptops come with some decent specifications. The Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 scores high in hardware department as it comes with a better processor, more storage option and not to forget a backlit keyboard, while the Asus ZenBook Flip comes with a sleek design and offers better battery backup and connectivity options.
