is there anyway to downgrade gingerbread to froyo or froyo to eclair?

This can be done only if ur phone is rooted .You can get custom ROM'S in XDA developers and you can downgrade as you wish .

No there is no option available to do this if this is done through JAf or firmware editing then will lead to hanging ur phone...

downgrade reason tat i gv is , OCLF work awesome in 2.1 ain't 2.2. So SGS work pretty fast when your 2.1 SGS is rooted and lagfix by OCLF but this does not happen the same when in 2.2 (maybe this only happen in my SGS only) Since 2.2 is no any diffences with 2.1 (at least so far I still not yet recognise any useful things for FROYO), so i decided to downgrade my SGS to Android 2.1

first u shuld nt downgrade frm gingerbread to froyo as gingerbread is the latest and has better power managment and secondy whch mobile u use ? if u use sony ericsson phones with android u cannot downgrade after updating frm froyo to gingerbread or etc ..but yes by hacking and flashing its possible bt r the it wil void ur warranty this site will help u how to downgrade bt beetr u dont http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982365 rehards vivek :)

no not much the companes dont provide.for example if u r using htc legend which comes in android eclair but it can be updated to froyoand u wil also have the options to remove it and use the old eclair .but in other cases still maybe for some phones hackers may have developed some ways by which u could do it but only in some phones

Why not ..... All you need to do is to find ur phone updater software and stock rom and download it from internet..... (go to XDA developers forum of ur phone). Download both and connect ur phone via USB and start downgrading ..... Volla ..... U R DONE !!!!!
