Yes , micromaxx, spice,karbonn and lava android phones are availiable in the market whose cost is less than 5000rs and u can mostly trust on micromaxx brand as it is giving large no. of varieties for eg A52,A57 etc are android mobile phone whose cost is less than 3000rs

There are quite a few options available in the sub 5000 category -As mentioned by Vsen222 below. The Micromax A45(superfone punk) appears to be best among the lot. It has got Android 2.3(Gingerbread) and a 3.5 inch screen but it is not a 3G device. IF its possible to spend a few bucks more you can go for the recently launched spice MI 355(Stellar craze). It has android 2.3, 5 MP Camera, 800 Mhz processor, 3G, Dual Sim. You can buy it for around Rs. 6000 - 6500. you can search for the hands on review of this phone on theMobileIndian.
