if the validity is over from 3 months then the mobile number is alloted to the new customer and if it is before the time period the you will have to go to the operator to know the number with identification documents.

Ok it means its in grace period, if the number is in your name call customer care or visit nearest center with that sim, and ask for help. Also Each sim has a unique number attached to it. You can tell that number to CC Executive or just simply calling to CC can confirm if the number is in your name. You need to verify your credentials. And if the sim is not in your name, forget about it.
