I you have a Slow speed of downloading on your 2G internet pack. If you allready activated the 2G plan, Then You have to activate the 3G plan but you have to use the 3G plan with 2G network. I definately sure that but you can get 50-80kbps speed of downloading.

If you have a 3G dongle then you can easily acieve this. I am using BSNL 2G SIM and a huawei 3G dongle with which i am able to get a stable speed of 700-800 kbps.

This is possible only in the case of BSNL. They have purposely done this so that they can improve the quality of service and thus help themselves. Yes, it is possible for you to use a 2g plan in BSNL and get 3g speed if you are having a 3g supported phone. This is possible by just changing the network connectivity from GSM to UMTS in your mobile.

Generally it is not possible friend but i told you that use Airtel or Docomo sim and connect with PC to get high speed net near to 3g speed but in mobiles it is not possible because it may require Settings and subscription packs etc and you try any tricks that may also not worked because service providers always check and watch the activities so the tricks are not working but in PC you have plenty of options,browsers and proxies to get high speed net.

Yes-
If you use airtel sim then you send sms "3G" to 121 and activate 3G on your mobile.
When your 3G activated then you recharge 2G gprs pack.

dear frend u should use airtel first you browsr any page with opera n dan minimise it now go to setting n change ur connectivity from gprs to utms m using this trick in samsung galaxy y from airtel n reliance gsm both

Mate, it is not possible. Previously you can change your 2G network mode to UMTS/ WCDMA mode and start surfing using your 2G data plan. But, now a days All network operators are concerned this trick and restrict 3G service until you opt for any 3G data plan :(
