Mostly bluetooth devices having 10 meters specific range. It also depend on the capability of the devices. Old devices having slow speed and less range in comperision of modern devices. Thanx.......

he more power u add on to the bluetooth device... the maximum range will increase. Basic range = 10 meter Bluetooth is is capable of transmitting voice and data within 32 feet (10 meters) wirelessly. However, the maximum range of a standard Bluetooth dongle available on the market today is a Class 1 device with up to 100m range.

the more power u add on to the bluetooth device... the maximum range will increase. Basic range = 10 meters,Bluetooth is a proprietary open wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short wavelength radio transmissions in the ISM band from 2400-2480 MHz) from fixed and mobile devices, creating personal area networks (PANs) with high levels of security. Created by telecoms vendor Ericsson in 1994,[1] it was originally conceived as a wireless alternative to RS-232 data cables. It can connect several devices, overcoming problems of synchronization. Bluetooth is managed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, which has more than 15,000 member companies in the areas of telecommunication, computing, networking, and consumer electronics.[2] The SIG oversees the development of the specification, manages the qualification program, and protects the trademarks.[3] To be marketed as a Bluetooth device, it must be qualified to standards defined by the SIG. A network of patents is required to implement the technology[citation needed] and are only licensed to those qualifying devices; thus the protocol, whilst open, may be regarded as proprietary.

Since most bluetooth devices are meant to operate with low power, the maximum range is 10 metres (~30ft). Some high powered devices extend range upto 100 metres.

Bluetooth uses a radio technology called frequency-hopping spread spectrum, which chops up the data being sent and transmits chunks of it on up to 79 bands in the range 2,400-2,483.5 MHz .Its normal range is 10 meters for Class I but it varies with the devices & the charge present in them etc etc. While Class II provides half the range of class I of 5 meters & Class III provides a whooping range of 100 meters.
