Mobile Number Portablility means changing the service network of a mobile without changing the mobile number. This Portablility helps customers change the network operators after following certain formalities. In this way the customers can change the network operator if they are not satisfied with the service they offer or if some other network operator provides a better offer. This has helped promote a competetion among all network operators to give better quality and cheaper offers for the customer.
