There seems to be little point in Samsung taking over Nokia's phone business, particularly given that it already has its own Windows Phone 7 handset in the UK, the Samsung Omnia 7, with more planned for the future. Nokia's stock plummeting in value and its ever-decreasing market share appear to be fuelling speculation that it is in line for a takeover. Selling to a rival would be a massive fall for a brand that was at the top of the mobile phone game just seven years ago.

Though the rumours regarding buying out of nokia by samsung are baseless nokia maybe bought by microsoft. Nokia is already planning to boot her mobiles with windows7 os by 2012 and will completely close out on symbian. Partenering with nokia to beat out google seems to be the next plan of microsoft which is already at heels with search engine bing. The executives of both the companies are considering the deal seriously as they face brutal competition from google's open source android. If microsoft does buy nokia we may see a clash of the titans in the mobile sphere too very soon.

no,Nokia's chief executive Stephen Elop dismissed as "baseless" rumours that the electronics giant Samsung is bidding for the company in London on Thursday. Speaking at the Open Mobile Summit, Elop said that "all the rumours are baseless" and reiterated Nokia's intention to create a third smartphone ecosystem to compete with Apple's iPhone and Google's dominant Android mobile operating system.
