Is 3G sim Works in 2G network area?

Well in phones there's actually more to it. The sim card, should be able to allow it to work. You can call and do everything except internet. The internet will have to be 3G unless your provider supports 2G, and if it does then you are in luck. The 3G can only work with 3G network, because 2G and 3G are 2 different frequencies. Also the phone has to support the frequencies that the company provides or it won't work because it can't even connect to the specific frequencies.

3G will work on your existing 2G SIM Card.

definately 3g sim will work in 2g netwrk. area but if u have activated 3g services, u will not get benefitted in 2g coverage area. ur net connection will be slow as 2g & video calling will no be possible.

Yes if there is a 3G network available then it can work in both the networks 2G and 3G but if there is only 2G available then 3G network would not work.

Ofcourse shri, 3G sims do work in 2G network areas but instead they dont get activated for the 3G Sim features like video calling, 3g Data Connection they also work as a normal 2g Network Connection instead.
