part... The Captivate seems to be able to read/write from the whole 13GB partition fine. However, Windows seems to be only to access the first 2GB of that 13GB partition. While I can see all the files listed, trying to read frohe folder hierarchy and csaid to work only on Made in US phones but somehow it worked on a LG KM380 phone. The rest to also worked similarly. What I did was install the softwares int the phone and then connect the phone to the computer via USD or fireware cable incase of MAC and then saw an addition of "Removable Media" in my desktop. Accessed that drive. That was it!! no hassle other than the initial searching part... Have a good time accessing,,,, an never find it.I've read that Astro File Manager can access it but I prefer using ES File Explorer and don't want to have two file managers on my DI.I am surprised at this stage of Android that a film file that were created after the first 2GB returns an error, and trying to copy additional files from windo

Does anyone know how to access the internal storage memory using ES File Explorer? I have tried going up and down the folder hierarchy and can never find it.I've read that Astro File Manager can access it but I prefer using ES File Explorer and don't want to have two file managers on my DI.I am surprised at this stage of Android that a file explorer is not included in the OS.

It seems to me that when the phone's internal storage is mounted using the Mass Storage mode, Windows only sees the first 2.2GB of space. If I try to format it using Windows, I only get an option to create a 2.2GB FAT32 partition. If I format using the Captivate's formatting tool, it creates a 13.03GB partition. Now the fun part... The Captivate seems to be able to read/write from the whole 13GB partition fine. However, Windows seems to be only to access the first 2GB of that 13GB partition. While I can see all the files listed, trying to read from file that were created after the first 2GB returns an error, and trying to copy additional files from windows to the internal storage once the 2GB limit is reached results in an error.

Well initially I have never thought about that but after reading ur question I tried it..... Cudn't find any success in the first attempt but then I came to know about 3 utilities after extensive net searching using specialized search engines. The utilities that I found were BitPim, MOBILedit and Forensic 4.1........... The BitPim was said to work only on Made in US phones but somehow it worked on a LG KM380 phone. The rest to also worked similarly. What I did was install the softwares int the phone and then connect the phone to the computer via USD or fireware cable incase of MAC and then saw an addition of "Removable Media" in my desktop. Accessed that drive. That was it!! no hassle other than the initial searching part... Have a good time accessing,,,,
