Micromax recently announced the launch of Canvas Spark 3 in India at Rs 4,999. It is only available through flash sales through Snapdeal.
The Canvas Spark 3 has a 5.5 inch IPS touchscreen that has high definition (720p) resolution. It has a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. Besides, it has a 2500 mAh battery, 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 5 megapixel front facing camera. There is an LED flash light in its rear panel as well.
The Micromax Canvas Spark 3 comes preinstalled with Android Lollipop operating system. It is available in black and champagne gold colours. It claims to offer “clear, room-filling, deep sound” with its 2509 speaker with a 1.5 CC box. The phone has dual SIM, WiFi and Bluetooth as well. The phone comes preloaded with 10 regional languages.
Here is our first impression of the Canvas Spark 3
Design and Display
The Spark 3 is quite a big handset, thanks to its huge 5.5 inch touchscreen. Also, it felt a lot lighter for such a huge phone. The Spark 3 has a removable back panel. The rear cover is made of plastic. It comes in rubberized finish and thus gives great grip – it isn’t slippery and neither is a dust/fingerprint magnet.
Below the rear cover, lies a non-removable battery, two micro SIM card slots and a micro SD card slot. There is a speaker grill towards the bottom of the back panel while a circular camera and two LED flash lights are at the top.
The Micromax Canvas Spark 3 has thick side metal panels which are slightly curved and thus offer good grip. The side panels come in golden colour finish and perfectly contrast with the black body of Spark 3.
The 3.5 mm Audio Jack is at its top panel while a Micro USB port is at its bottom alongside which lies a microphone.
Overall, I loved the way the Canvas Spark 3 felt and looks. We will explore other aspects of its design later in our in-depth review.
Cameras
The 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 5 megapixel front facing camera of Canvas Spark 3 felt quite fast in our initial review. They managed to click decent pictures as well (see below pictures) But this is our initial findings only and will click more pictures later to find out the true quality of these cameras. But meanwhile, you can check out below pictures which we have captured through the Canvas Spark 3’s cameras and decide for yourself.
Other Features
We are yet to fully explore other aspects of Spark 3 like processing power, display performance, user interface features, battery back up sound output etc. But with 8 GB of internal storage and an expandable storage option, the Spark 3 certainly quite good in storage front.
