Milagrow AguaBot 5.0 is a circular robot with two brush-like brooms up front and a movement sensor to map its surroundings.
In July this year, Milagrow, a company working in the consumer robot space, had launched the 5th Generation of its Domestic Robotic Vacuum Cleaner called as AquaBot 5.0 for Rs 31,990. As the name suggest it performs the task of 'Jhadu and poocha' (floor vacuuming and wet mopping). We have used this robot for around a month and based our experience we present to you its review.
Milagrow AguaBot 5.0 is a circular robot with two brush-like brooms up front and a movement sensor to map its surroundings. Movement sensors have been concealed above the front universal wheel so that the robot can send the signal to the CPU to identify obstacles and staircases so that it doesn't trip. It also comes with a water reservoir and smart mop attachment. Just fill the water in the reservoir, put the smart mop at the bottom of the water tank and then attach the water reservoir to the AguaBot 5.0 and let the robot do the rest. The water tank and smart mop have been made in such a way that only the front portion of the mop will do the wet mopping while the back portion, which is kept dry would wipe the floor dry.
AguaBot 5.0 has been built with Milagrow's 5th generation robotic software and comes with dual suction control. The maximum suction can go up to 45W. The dual suction control will get activated when the AguaBot senses extra dirt or when the consumer chooses the turbo suction on the remote control. The normal mode saves battery while the turbo mode provides the additional power needed to suck up tough dirt. To move around the AguaBot 5.0 is equipped with extra thick anti-slippage tires and automobile suspension technology to absorb jerks. It weighs 2.5 kgs and can clean 3500 square feet area in about 120 minutes.
It also comes with a dock that doubles up as a charger as well. One can preset the clearing time for the Robot and when the need arises power it on manually. Interestingly, the robot when low on charge or when one presses the home button will on its own navigate to the dock and gets itself charged.
First of all, it has a compact design and the choice of the material used to make is damn good. No way has it looked cheap. If your home doesn't have too many obstacles it can work without supervision. The most important thing it cleans the floor and carpets really well. Even the moping is effective.
On a single charge AquaBot 5.0 can clean the two bedrooms and a drawing room easily. It can be set to do cleaning in spiral or diagonal directions.
One can't preset time for wet mopping. One has to attach the wet mop and the water container only when you want the robot to do wet mopping. If by chance you attach the water container to the AquaBot 5.0 in ideal state the water from the container will spill out over a period of time and may even damage the dock.
Secondly, AquaBot 5.0 doesn't have a memory to record the map of the area. So every time you put the Robot into action it will start from scratch and arbitrarily decide the path to do the cleaning.
The tablet has a very different design and has attractive features.
